Ericsson (NASDAQ: ERIC) has announced changes to its group structure and executive team to better position the company to deliver on its strategy and growth plans while making investments in R&D to preserve its technological leadership. The new Executive Team functions and organizational structure will go into effect on June 1, 2022. The company’s objective is to become a leader in mobile infrastructure while also establishing a business for enterprises.

A new business unit was created by merging Business Area Digital Services and Business Area Managed Services. Ericsson will be able to benefit from the integration of cloud, software, and services as a result of this. Ericsson will be able to utilize R&D investments, improve cloud-native expertise, and expand its integrated offers for automation and AI for service delivery thanks to the new structure.

The company disclosed that it will deliver solutions that will enable its customers to automate increasingly complex networks for cost savings and faster time to market through the new Business Area Cloud Software and Services. It can combine its investments in orchestration and AI solutions by merging the two business sectors and harnessing data from its network operations. This will enable the company to maintain its technological leadership in an ever-changing market.

Furthermore, George Mulhern has been named to the Ericsson Executive Team as Senior Vice President and Head of Business Area Enterprise Wireless Solutions. Cradlepoint’s current CEO is Mulhern. A new Business Division Enterprise Wireless Solutions, which includes the current Cradlepoint’s business and Dedicated Networks, was formed to take full responsibility and focus on developing solutions that satisfy the emerging demands of enterprises, as well as to establish a devoted go-to-market organization for enterprise customers, providing full-service provider relationship.
