InterDigital, Inc. (NASDAQ: IDCC) disclosed that it has decided to renew its license deal with Sharp Corporation. The deal was scheduled to terminate in 2021. But it has been decided that it is going to continue to cover Sharp’s sale of its 3G and 4G mobile products. Sharp has been a constant licensee of InterDigital since 1998, covering several generations of cellular technology.

The firm disclosed that this renewal agreement has shown that discussion between accountable licensors and licensees can lead to long-term, equally advantageous relationships that allow a firm to take benefit of standards-based technology while valuing the research that strengthens its industry.

InterDigital, Inc. (NASDAQ: IDCC) shares soared 0.29% at $73.65 during the trading session of Monday. InterDigital, Inc. (NASDAQ: IDCC) share price went from a low point around $4.17 to briefly over $74.20 in past 52 weeks. Its share has moved up 66.74% and -0.74% during the past 52-week of low and high. IDCC's market cap has remained high, reaching $2.26 at the time of writing.

Previously, InterDigital Inc has disclosed the nomination of Pierre-Yves Lesaicherre for election to the firm’s Board of Directors at the annual shareholder meeting of the firm. The meeting is planned to be held on June 2, 2021. Dr. Lesaicherre has earlier served as the President, CEO, and Director of Nanometrics Incorporated from 2017 to 2019.
