Wabtec Corporation (NYSE: WAB) disclosed Monday that it has won an order for London Underground. As per the contract which is worth more than $70 million the firm is responsible for the supply of Siemens Mobility with various products for the Piccadilly Upgrade Program of London Underground.

As per the initial order, Wabtec will deliver the components for 94 new trains. London Underground is the busiest transit system in the world with millions of passenger journeys per day. This system will need to have the most credible and effective solutions to provide the anticipated perfect transport for Londoners.

Furthermore, the contract is for brakes, air conditioning and ventilation (HVAC), passenger information systems, and third-rail current collectors. This order also is the first time that trains in the London "Deep Tube" will be fitted with air conditioning systems.
