International Business Machines Corporation (NYSE: IBM) has welcomed LG Electronics to the IBM Quantum Network to advance industry applications of Quantum Computing. After this partnership, LG Electronics will be able to access IBM's quantum computing systems, as well as IBM's quantum expertise and Qiskit which is IBM's open-source quantum information software development kit.

LG Electronics intends to discover applications of quantum computing in the industry to back big data, AI, connected cars, digital revolution, IoT, and robotics applications. These all need processing a large amount of data. The partnership between IBM and LG Electronics will enable LG to discover new types of problems related to the advanced technologies and will bolster the quantum capabilities in Korea.

Furthermore, LG can take advantage of quantum computing hardware and software advances and applications as they develop, following IBM's quantum roadmap. By utilizing IBM Quantum technology, LG will offer workforce training to its employees. It will also enable LG to examine how potential innovations can be applied to its industry.

In addition, LG Electronics disclosed that based on its open advancement strategy, it is intending to leverage IBM Quantum to develop its competency in quantum computing. The company is also intending to offer customers value that they have not witnessed so far by taking advantage of quantum computing technology in future businesses.
