Enbridge (NYSE: ENB) has been granted permission by Minnesota’s Public Utilities Commission to start constructing the Line 3 oil pipeline across the northern part of the state. This leaves the company by acquiring just one more permit for storm water from the pollution control regulator.

The overall project was given its final approval in February and The PUC’s authorization came a day after the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers issued a water quality-related construction permit. Simultaneously, earlier this month the MPCA also issued a permit.

Yesterday Enbridge lodged a complaint to the federal court requesting an injunction to stop Michigan from intervening and preventing operations at the Line 5 pipeline.
