Sonder Holdings Inc. (NASDAQ: SOND) confirmed that it has decided to add four new hotels in central locations to its portfolio in London. The company also disclosed that in the United Kingdom & Ireland, Sonder Royal Garden Apartments in Edinburgh is set to grow with an additional 11 units.

Sonder opened The Henry, a 102-key hotel in Bayswater near Hyde Park, and The Voyage, a 53-key hotel in Norfolk Square near Paddington Station, in April 2022. The Rove, with 74 keys, will be added to Norfolk Square shortly. Sonder will also open an 86-key hotel near Bedford Square in Bloomsbury in the second half of 2022.

Furthermore, they're all adjacent to key business districts, tourist attractions, and transportation hubs, and they've all been upgraded with Sonder's distinctive intricate designs and tech-enabled, modern service. These four hotels will join Sonder's London portfolio of six current hotels, building on the latest expansion and a continued focus on desirable locations.

Additionally, the new units in the UK and Ireland are positioned just across from the Scottish National Portrait Gallery and provide accommodation with an in-unit kitchen and laundry facilities, making them perfect for extended visits. Sonder has contracted an additional 91 apartments in the Dublin 1 region and will open its first hotel in the city, with 26 rooms, on Leeson Street later this year.

The Leeson Street hotel, situated close to St Stephen's Green park, is a significant 19th-century Georgian edifice that is undergoing renovations. In addition to Sonder's two existing serviced apartment buildings in Dublin, these activities will be expanded. With these additions, Sonder's overall portfolio will now include 28 properties across the UK and Ireland, totaling about 900 apartments. Sonder opened its first location outside of North America in London in 2017, and the region will continue to be a focus for future expansion.
