Orbital Energy Group, Inc. (NASDAQ: OEG) disclosed that its unit Orbital Solar Services (OSS) has received a 130-megawatt project. The granted contract is an Engineering, Procurement, and Construction (EPC) pact to build a 132.2MWdc/100MWac solar farm in the Southeastern United States.

Orbital Group disclosed that this contract has demonstrated the firm’s ability to reduce its carbon footprints. This project and similar projects like it are assisting to grow OSS's industry relationships based on a strong track record of accomplishment, and the professional knowledge to deliver end-to-end solutions.

Selection Criteria

OSS was chosen based on its in-house engineering capabilities, supply chain relationships. The successful accomplishment history of completing more than 40 solar projects over 600 megawatts also plays a key role in getting this contract. OSS is a reputable industry leader having over 50 years of combined experience in the delivery and management of both commercial and renewable energy construction projects.

Contract Details

As per the deal, OSS will be responsible to design, engineer, and produce a utility-scale solar array which is to be dispatched at the start of 2022. As per the conditions of the contract, OSS will offer complete utility-scale EPC services, covering substation construction. The project will comprise 350,000 solar panels fitted across 800 acres of land and will deliver power for 20,000 homes per year.

This is the second project which the firm has received. This contract has shown the increasing demand for technical expertise and abilities in designing and building these large, complex, utility-scale solar projects of OSS.
