KVH Industries Inc. (NASDAQ: KVHI) revealed that it has decided to collaborate with Smart Ship Hub to offer KVH Watch connectivity to offer effective visions for vessels. Smart Ship Hub is now a partner of KVH Watch Solution.
KVH Watch is an IoT Connectivity as a Service solution that offers Flow, safe 24/7/365 machine-to-cloud satellite the ability to connect for distant supervising of on the ship apparatus, and the capability to execute Remote Expert Interventions using video, voice, or text via KVH’s global HTS network.
Furthermore, KVH Watch is developed with the sole purpose to offer subscription-based connectivity and it was specifically developed for maritime equipment producers, multi-card service suppliers, and dockyards. Currently, in the digital environment, it is important to bring information from vessel to shore.
To enhance the performance the important step is to get the real-time data of vessel equipment. However, the ship’s transmission capacity is continually challenged by other users, so some data restrictions avoid an IoT service business from mounting its digital business appropriately.
Furthermore, this transmission capacity creates a blockage for any necessary video troubleshooting. There has to be high-speed Internet connectivity to allow video troubleshooting while the ship is at sea. This will not only save time but also saves money on seaports.
