In important categories such as green products and solutions, corporate governance, trust-building, talent nurturing, service development, and social charity, the report describes the company's ESG performance in 2021.

Baidu said in 2021 that it will collaborate with partners to achieve "zero-carbon growth" with AI and achieve carbon neutrality at the corporate level by 2030. Case studies in intelligent transportation, green offices, low-carbon data centers, and other areas have all contributed to this goal.

Baidu is a strong believer in gender equality, guaranteeing that female employees have equal access to job possibilities while adhering to the idea of equal compensation for equal Labour. Women made up 43.2 percent of Baidu's management staff in 2021 as per the report. Furthermore, the report disclosed that Baidu has been at the forefront of efforts to foster a more diverse and active AI development community. Baidu has managed 21 open-source groups and over 1,000 open-source projects on Github as of 2021, with over 18,000 community contributors and 370,000 stars acquired.

Additionally, the report revealed that Baidu has made risk prevention and management a major priority and has built a risk management structure directed by the Board. The corporation changed its risk management mindset in 2021 and implemented the "three lines" risk management methodology to conduct frequent internal risk detection, analysis, and evaluation. The firm also developed the Baidu Sustainable Development and Social Responsibility Rules for Suppliers. Domestic providers were obliged to comply with these standards 100 percent by 2021.
