AEye, Inc. (NASDAQ: LIDR) has opened a new office in Munich, Germany. The new site serves AEye's present and future customers in the region across all of the company's addressable sectors, which include automotive, mobility, trucking, logistics, and smart infrastructure. Andreas Prinz, senior automotive engineering expert, has been named technical sales director for AEye throughout Europe, according to the business.

Prinz brings more two decades of experience in automotive software to AEye. Prinz was most recently the head of client programs for TTTech Auto in Munich, where he oversaw a 180-person software task force. Before that, he worked at Magna Electronics and Harman as a director, as well as at Continental Automotive Systems and Motorola in various engineering capacities.

AEye has advanced its objective to drive the future of safe autonomy by advancing its mission through technological validation, product advancements, production milestones with key go-to-market partners, and corporate development during the past year. The launch of the German office is a natural next step for AEye after a period of continuous development. The company is excited to continue collaborating with existing clients, partners, suppliers, and system integrators in Europe, while also forming new partnerships to meet the global demand for safe, dependable autonomous solutions.

Furthermore, AEye is the first and only lidar firm to have its sensor's performance validated by a renowned third-party testing service, and the company recently reached the milestone of filing more than 100 patents across four continents and more than ten nations. AEye also expanded in size and opened operations in Korea and Japan in 2021, when it became a publicly traded firm on the Nasdaq stock exchange.
