DoorDash, Inc. (NYSE: DASH) has launched an express grocery delivery service in collaboration with Albertsons Companies (NYSE: ACI). Express grocery delivery is a new service that provides consumers faster and more suitable delivery of fresh groceries in under 30 minutes.

Consumers in more than 20 major cities across the US, including Los Angeles, Denver, Seattle, and others, will now be able to order express grocery delivery from Albertsons Cos. banner stores such as Safeway, Vons, ACME Markets, Jewel-Osco, and Tom Thumb through the DoorDash marketplace in 30 minutes or less. In the following weeks, DoorDash hopes to expand this service to other Albertsons Cos. banners.

Furthermore, Albertsons Cos. local banner loyalty program members, such as Albertsons for U and Safeway for U, could choose to link their account in the DoorDash app to earn reward points on buying, and DoorDash customers can take advantage of loyalty pricing and advertising on express grocery orders where available.

Additionally, DoorDash’s announcement of rapid online grocery with Albertsons follows the company’s ultra-fast grocery delivery service, which offers deliveries in as little as 10-15 minutes from certain DashMart locations. DoorDash provides merchants with the resources and technology they need to fulfill customers’ increased demands for convenience, and it will continue to apply lessons learned from ultra-fast grocery delivery to its express grocery service.
