Accenture (NYSE: ACN) Secures $729M U.S. Army Enterprise Resource Planning Contract

Accenture Plc (NYSE: ACN) disclosed on Monday that its subsidiary Accenture Federal Services (AFS) has secured a $729 million contract to offer aid to the U.S. Army Communications-Electronics Command (CECOM) revolutionize multiple enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems into a single, unified model to enhance efficiency, improve readiness, and cut costs.

The contract duration is six years. AFS has backed the Army on other sophisticated technology projects It includes a cloud-based payroll and accounting project known as the Army Morale, Welfare and Recreation Non-Appropriated Fund Integrated Financial Management System.

Accenture Plc (NYSE: ACN) shares were plunged 0.19% as the firm has lost -0.61 at the time of writing on Monday. Accenture Plc (NYSE: ACN) share price went from a low point around $210.42 to briefly over $319.74 in the past 52 weeks, though shares have since pulled back to 318.73. ACN market cap has remained high, hitting $209.65 at the time of writing

Furthermore, the firm disclosed that AFS will back the Army Shared Services Center (SSC) with organizational change management, agile development, and quality assurance, among other capability support functions. Additionally, the firm is trying to provide aid to the Army move toward a consolidated ERP backed by advanced approaches and industry best practices.
