Cognizant Technology Solutions Corporation (NASDAQ: CTSH) and XPRIZE both have collaborated to name the Grand Prize winners in the Pandemic Response Challenge (PRC). The PRC is a $500K four months challenge on the creation of AI systems to identify COVID-19 infection rates and recommend Mediation Plans that local governments, villages, and businesses can execute to lessen harm when the will decide to reopen their economies.
After the completion of the competition now the authorities are advised to use the methodology and technology from the competition as a reference on tactics to lessen the possible outbreaks of coronavirus. Both the qualitative and quantitative parameters are used to assess the performance of the winners of the competition.
The factors through which judges will access the performance includes the factor such as innovation, Inclusivity, and Fairness which evaluate that whether the proposed solution will also address the need of the vulnerable group. The other factors include Collaborative contribution, and accountability, and usability.
The first prize winner of the competition is VALENCIA IA4COVID19 (Valencia, Spain) team and the second prize winner is JSI vs COVID (Ljubljana, Slovenia). These best scoring teams were chosen from among 48 qualifiers in 17 countries. Both teams will share evenly the total prize wallet of $500,000, however, judges have selected to differentiate team VALENCIA IA4COVID19 as first place due to their excellent suggestions. In total, over 100 teams around the world originally enlisted in the contest.
