L3Harris (NYSE: LHX) To Design Autonomous Surface Ship For DARPA

L3Harris Technologies, Inc. (NYSE: LHX) declared Tuesday that it has been awarded the responsibility by US DARPA to construct the independent surface ship concept. This contract will show the firm’s control in Unmanned Surface Vehicle (USV) systems.

LHX was selected for phase one of the two-phase No Manning Required Ship (NOMARS) program. The L3Harris concept design will modernize the building, supply chain, operating, and maintenance life-cycle of NOMARS. The firm has joined forces with VARD Marine to authenticate the concept and design of the design and exterior, electric, and mechanical systems.

Shares of L3Harris Technologies traded up 0.93% at the time of writing on Tuesday. The firm has recorded the day low range of $184.00 and a day high range of $187.25. LHX’s trading volume reached 272.98K as compared to the average volume of 1.31 million at the time of writing on Tuesday.
